The Wildcats Youth Sports Flag Football program is designed with the organization's primary objective as the guiding principle in everything we do. The primary objective is to promote the ideals of good sportsmanship, personal integrity, and team cooperation through participation and instruction in the game of football.
The Wildcats program plays in a high-level recreational league. Flag teams are mixed age and generally are entering Kindergarten or 1st grade in the fall. However, we don't restrict kids based on grade. If you have a child that is not entering Kindergarten yet but wants to play, email us to discuss.
Coaching
All coaches are required to be certified through USA Football to ensure proper safety and instruction of the kids. As part of the Heads Up Football program, the league will have a designated and certified safety coach which will provide an additional safety course for all coaches, parents, and players. Any parents interested in being coaches or involved in sideline team activities will also be required to attend some of these events.
Equipment
All flag players will be provided with the following equipment:
Practice Shirt
Game Jersey
Flags & Belt
Pink Out Package
Players must provide the following equipment:
Player Combines
The player combines are for player evaluations and are mandatory for all flag players. All players need to attend at least one of the combine dates but are welcome to come for both. The players will be tested for speed, strength, and agility. There will also be football-specific drills such as throwing and catching. If a player misses a combine, for whatever reason, and there is more than one team for their grade level - the player must be a hat pick in the draft.
Player age, grade, and address will also be verified by the league at the combine days.
